Famille Perrin - Les Crus

Famille Perrin Châteauneuf du Pape - Les Sinards 2018

Presentation

Les Sinards is generally made from the young vines from Beaucastel as well as farmed vines located near Beaucastel.

Ageing

As of August, we carry out maturity checks and berry tastings to determine the optimal date for harvest. Each grape variety is harvested separately. When they arrive at the winery, the grapes are sorted. Part of the Syrah is vinified in whole bunches, the other part as well as the Grenache are destemmed. The Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines are vinified using the same process as the wines of Château de Beaucastel. After vinification, the wines are tasted to define the blend. Finally, they are aged in oak foudres for 2 years.

The vintage

The 2018 vintage is characterised by exceptional weather conditions. Flowering took place in the best possible conditions, with a historically abundant grape output. A few rainy epi-sodes at the end of the spring complicated things a little with an attack of mildew, but the good weather then settled down until harvest, which took place under idyllic condi-tions.The wines are beautiful.

Serving

15°C in big glasses. Drink with game, truffles and mushrooms.

Tasting

Elegant, intense ruby colour. This Châteauneuf-du-Pape is the perfect combination of gourmet aromas and sweet spice notes, with a nose on cherries, cinnamon and cocoa. Its full bodied palate reveals a bouquet of red and black fruit. Well balanced with a nice acidity which underlines its fruity aromas, this wine offers a long finish. 10-year ageing potential.
