Famille Perrin - Les Crus

Famille Perrin Châteauneuf du Pape Blanc Les Sinards - 2018

Presentation

This very rare wine comes from plots managed by the Château de Beaucastel team.

Ageing

As of August, we carry out maturity checks and berry tastings to determine the optimal date for harvest. On arrival at the winery, the grapes are pressed using a pneumatic press. The must is refrigerated and the settling is done by cold maceration, without any additions. The alcoholic fermentation starts in the tank and as of the first day, the must is put into demi-muids barrels. Regular bâtonnage is carried out in order to bring roundness and structure to the wine. After several months in barrels, the wines are slightly fined before bottling.

The vintage

The 2018 vintage is characterised by exceptional weather conditions. Flowering took place in the best possible conditions, with a historically abundant grape output. A few rainy episodes at the end of the spring complicated things a little with an attack of mildew, but the good weather then settled down until harvest, which took place under idyllic conditions. The wines are beautiful.

Serving

At 10°C in tasting glasses.

Tasting

Pretty golden colour with shiny reflections. It is a wine full of refinement and roundness: its nose reveals elegant aromas of almonds, limes and white flesh fruit and its palate has a nice sweetness on notes of citrus and peach. An iodised note with a slight bitterness offers a hint of liveliness which gives structure to this wine.
